The
Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) is an industry association
focused on eliminating the identity theft and fraud that
result from the growing problem of phishing and email
spoofing. The organization provides a forum to discuss
phishing issues and evaluations of potential
technology solutions, and access to a centralized repository
of phishing attacks. |

Membership Eligibility |
| Membership
is open to qualified financial institutions, online retailers,
ISPs, the law enforcement community, security solutions providers and research institutions.
Note that because phishing attacks and email fraud are
sensitive subjects for many organizations that do business
online, the APWG has a policy of maintaining the confidentiality
of member organizations. |

Membership Types |
|
In
general, APWG members pay annual dues to financially support
the organization. Membership dues cover the general expenses
of the organization, including websites, mailings and
communications, portions of the APWG meetings, and more.
Note however that there is a low-cost 'Basic' membership
option for those who wish to monitor APWG activities
but not actively participate.

Membership
Type |
Cost |
| Special Non-Profit, Academic, Government, Law Enforcement and NGO Membership: Organizations engaged in counter-phishing research, outreach, education, law enforcement or government administration are eligible for membership at no cost. (Conference fees, however, cannot be waived.) Those organizations may join the APWG as full members, with unlimited
membership for employees working in capacities directly related to counter-phishing activities. This includes access to the
APWG Work Site and working sub-groups, subscription to the APWG news and discussion newslist, eligibility to participate in
APWG meetings and and eligibility to access the Phishing Repository. |

| Basic
membership: Individuals who work for eligible
organizations may join the APWG as Basic members.
Basic membership is designed to allow individuals
from eligible organizations to monitor APWG activities
without active participation and at low cost. Basic membership
includes access to the APWG Work Site (but NOT
working sub-groups), and to the APWG news and discussion newslist. |

membership: Individuals who work for eligible
organizations may join the APWG as Individual members.
Individual membership includes access to the APWG
Work Site and working sub-groups, eligibility to
attend and participate in APWG general meetings and access to the APWG news and discussion newslist. |

| Corporate membership: Eligible organizations
may join the APWG as Corporate members, with unlimited
membership for employee and contractors. This includes
access to the APWG Work Site and working sub-groups, subscription
to the APWG news and discussion newslist and eligibility to participate in APWG meetings. |

| Sponsoring
Vendor membership: Eligible technology and
solution provider organizations may join the APWG
as Sponsoring Vendor members, with unlimited membership
for employee and contractors. This includes access
to the APWG Work Site and working sub-groups, subscription
to the APWG news and discussion newslist,
eligibility to participate in APWG meetings and eligibility to access the
Phishing Repository. Sponsoring Vendors receive
a series of marketing/sponsorship benefits, including
being listed as sponsoring vendors on the Anti-Phishing
Working Group public website, posting whitepapers
on the public website, posting corporate and solution
profiles on the public website. |
$7,500 per annum application instructions below |
| Premium
membership: Eligible organizations may join
the APWG as Premium members, with unlimited membership
for employee and contractors. This includes access
to the APWG Member's Site and working sub-groups, subscription
to the APWG news and discussion newslist,
eligibility to participate in APWG meetings and
eligibility to access the
Phishing Repository. Premium members are eligible to sit on the Anti-Phishing Working Group Steering
Committee. Steering Committee seats are invitation only. |

| Sustaining membership: Eligible
organizations may join the APWG as Sustaining members, with unlimited
membership for employee and contractors. This includes access to the
APWG Work Site and working sub-groups, subscription to the APWG news and discussion newslist, eligibility to participate in
APWG meetings and eligibility to access the
Phishing Repository. Sustaining members receive a series of
marketing/sponsorship benefits, including being listed as Sustaining members on the Anti-Phishing Working Group public website and the APWG
members' website, posting whitepapers on the members' website, posting
corporate and solution profiles on the public website, newsletter
sponsorship. |

for APWG Membership |

apply for membership in the APWG, please send an email
to membership@antiphishing.org with
the following information:

Your application will be reviewed, and upon approval, you
will be sent an introductory login notice from the Member's
Site and invoice if applicable. If you have any questions,
please contact us at membership@antiphishing.org .
**Please Note: Request for membership will only be accepted if the email addresses originates from a domain owned by a qualifying organization. Generic or free ISP accounts like Yahoo!, Gmail or Hotmail are not acceptable.
