Upcoming APWG Meetings

The APWG holds a General Meeting each year in the fall and usually two or three additional events. Below are the current events scheduled:

  • Counter-eCrime Operations Summit, May 26 & 27, 2008 - Tokyo, Japan
This event is a collaboration with the Council of Anti-Phishing Japan, an industry coalition formed after a recommendation by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). This year's meeting will continue to focus on the forensic challenges and the development of resources for first responders and forensic artisans and, as ever, forging stronger trust ties between thought leaders in these global communities. We will host the event at the Grand Prince Hotel Akasaka, Tokyo, Japan. A business and government district by day and one of Tokyo's premier entertainment areas by night, Akasaka will be a perfect place for the APWG to hold the second instance of this annual event. More details will be posted soon along with instructions for registration and to reserve rooms at the special APWG negotiated rate.

  • General Meeting and eCrime Researchers Summit 2008, October 14, 15 & 16, 2008 - Atlanta, GA

APWG Supported Events:

AusCERT2008
- The AusCERT Asia Pacific Information Security Conference is an international conference focussing on IT security for CFOs, CIOs, CTOs and technical staff from government agencies, universities and industry. It will feature both local and international IT security experts. 18th - 23rd May 2008, Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Resort, Gold Coast, Australia

FIRST conferences promote worldwide coordination and cooperation among Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs). The conference provides a forum for sharing goals, ideas, and information on how to improve global computer security. This years program, Crossing Borders: Towards Globalization of Security, will look at how can Internet security answer these challenges and transform itself technically, politically, legally and efficiently into a truly global force for good.

Black Hat USA, August 2-7 in Las Vegas, the world's premier technical event for ICT security experts. Featuring 40 hands-on training courses and 80 Briefings presentations with lots of new content and new tools. Network with 4,000 delegates from 50 nations. Every year the lineup of presentations helps define the security headlines for the following year and 2008 will be no exception.
